AWESOME SIMULATOR but ready for more!
Overall, good simulator for the price! It will keep you busy for a while and is REALLY fun. There are a lot of small details that might go un-noticed (such as all the details in scenery, the really AWESOME CAMERA ANGLES FOR REPLAY...from the tower, runway, landing gear, etc.). However, if you are a die hard simulator fan, you will want more! Great foundation to build on so I cant wait for the next update!
Here are my comments/suggestions and this is being very picky!
1. The "feel" and physics to the overall simulation feel pretty real but I found I had to dial the sensitivity back for the jets. No big deal though.
2. When you land, you have to come to a complete stop on the runway instead of requiring you to exit the runway to a hangar or parking spot. The carrier makes sense though.
3. LIke another reviewer wrote, you have to pause the game to get to the map. Why cant we just push "m" for map?
4. Maybe I missed it but I had to figure out how to takeoff and land the Harrier Jet in vertical mode. Its pretty cool when you figure it out.
5. Rudder would be nice, especially for harrier when hovering (so the yaw axis can change rather than using the ailerons which "sway" you back and forth in the Harrier).
6. When misaligned on final approach, there is no way to pan left or pan right from the pilots perspective in first person in the cockpit. This gets frustrating since you cant tell where the runway is when you are turning....until it suddenly appears on your screen. Then you have to make a massive adjustment to get on the runway or simply go around.
7. The air traffic control audio and lingo doesnt sound realistic. "Romeo Victor, Fly to Carrier." and "Romeo Victor, you are allowed to take off from carrier," etc.
8. Flying around is fun but it is time for real missions....to launch missiles, bomb something, etc.
Thanks for reading, and I hope this helps!
